James Cashus Holt, Sr., 88, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at UNC Health Care in Clayton. He was born in Johnston County on April 20, 1932 to the late William Millard Holt and Kizzie Lee Holt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Francis LaVerne Evans Holt; brothers, Banks Holt, Robert Holt, and John Holt; sisters, Ada Marshall, Thelma Vest and infant sister Sara Holt.
Due to Covid-19, there will be no formal services at this time.
Mr. Holt will be available for viewing and will lie in repose on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 and Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 9:00 am through 5:00 pm.
A private burial will be held at the Princeton Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later day and will be updated on the Casey Funeral Home and Cremations website at that time.
Mr. Holt was a farmer for many years while simultaneously working at K. R. Edwards Tobacco Company. In later years, he worked at Walmart celebrating 20 years of service on June 6, 2020. He will be missed by so many of his dear friends and family.
He is survived by son, James “Jimmy” Cashus Holt, Jr. of the home; daughter, Shelia Campbell (Richard) of Farmville; significant other for the past 12 years, Patty Addison; sisters, Mildred Hadnott of Pine Level, Mary Batten of Fort Collins, Colorado; grandchildren, Sarah Hardin, Mary Beth Campbell, Cashus Paul Holt and Jenny Lynn Holt; and great grandson, Luke Hardin.
