James David Jernigan, 69, of Clayton passed away at UNC Rex Hospital on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. He was born in Wayne County on September 30, 1950 to the late David Earl and Mary Magdalene Sykes Jernigan. He is also preceded in death by sisters, Debbie Jernigan and an infant sister.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 23, 2020 at 11:00 am in Princeton Cemetery, 225 Dr. Donnie H. Jones, Jr. Blvd., Princeton, NC 27569 with the Reverend Phil Wiggins officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Weaver Jernigan; daughter, Christy Jernigan of Clayton; brother, Jesse Jernigan of Dudley; 4 grandchildren, Haley, Brandon, Jonathan, and Zachary; brother-in-law, Donald Weaver and wife, Mia and a niece, Kayla.
