Hendersonville, NC: Mr. James Earl Royal, age 85, of 1012 Saddlebrook Drive, formerly of Wade, NC, died Monday at Life Care Center in Hendersonville. Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Saturday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Charles Taylor. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn.
Mr. Royal was born May 7, 1931 in Johnson County to the late James Luby and Gertrude Wood Royal. He was also preceded in death by his son, Ted Royal and daughter, Vicky. Mr. Royal was a retired Civil Service Airplane Mechanic at Pope Air Force Base and also a veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Emmy Lou McLamb Royal; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Robin Royal of Hendersonville; daughter-in-law, Amy Royal of Charlotte; brothers, Jerry Royal of Durham, and Fernie Royal of Four Oaks; sister, Doris Frix of Newport News, VA; grandchildren, Shannon Royal, Ryan Royal and his wife, Kelly, Natalie Royal Herb and her husband, Bobby, and Michael Royal; great grandchildren, Adalyn and Lila Royal, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday 1:30PM – 2:45PM prior to the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
