    Benson, NC: Mr. James Herman Lee, age 89, died Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Transitions Hospice Home in Raleigh. A Private Church Sanctuary Service will be held; however, the family invites you to join them for a 2:00PM, public Graveside Service on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Joe Brown.
    Mr. Lee was born on April 30, 1931 in Johnston County to the late Perry Allen and Addie Belle Lee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Gold Parker Lee, brothers, Lumas Lee, Dallas Lee, Aaron B. Lee, John Lee, Shelton Lee and Harold Lee, sister, Vestal Jernigan and a special nephew, Allen Ray Wood. Mr. Lee was a US Army veteran and served his country in occupied Japan. He was the owner and operator of Lee’s Grocery and Service Station outside Benson for many years. In 1977, Mr. Lee joined the staff of Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, Coats and Four Oaks, where he was a funeral service assistant, serving the community for over 40 years. Mr. Lee enjoyed fishing with his family and was known for his famous grilling, homemade biscuits and his meticulous yard. He was a faithful member of Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church, where he served in many capacities.
    Surviving include his children, Curtis Lee and wife, Beth of Benson, Kevin Lee of Dunn, Jeffrey Lee and wife, Lisa of Benson; grandchildren, Kelly Faircloth, Kandace Hayes, Jordan Lee, Jarred Lee, Karlie Bates, Annah Boyd, Kaylan Johnson, Nicholas Lee, and Bryson Lee; ten great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Eloise Lee of Garner, Gwen Lee of Benson, Margaret Braswell of Fuquay Varina, Lunette McLamb and husband, Jimmy of Benson, Pam Holland and husband, Danny Mac of Benson; brother-in-law, Leroy Adams of White Oak; many nieces and nephews.
    A time of visitation will be held 12:00PM-7:00PM on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC. The family will not be present during this time.
    In accordance with the current NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W’s: wait, wash and wear a face covering. A mask is required for all services.
    Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be sent to the Ronald McDonald House, 506 Alexander Drive, Durham, NC 27705.
