James Ruffin Hocutt, 82 of Pine Level, NC returned to his heavenly home on Sunday, June 28, 2020.
James is survived by Judy Pittman Hocutt, his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, daughter, Elizabeth Carol Hocutt, son Willie James Hocutt and his husband, Philip “Skip” Haas. all of Pine Level and sister, Pansy Hocutt Evans of Kenly, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Ruffin Hocutt and Swannie Hinton Hocutt, sisters, Josephine Deans and Eunice Hocutt and brother, Walter Gray Hocutt.
James loved golf and worked many years at White Pines Golf Club in Camden, SC. He retired from Kendall Mill, Wateree Cotton Plant in Camden after 22 years. He attended Hickory Cross Gospel Center in Kenly and was a former member of Harmony Baptist Church in Bethune, SC. He leaves behind many beloved and faithful friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 2nd from 6 to 7 pm at Parrish Funeral Home, Selma. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 3rd at Price Cemetery, Pine Level with the Reverend Duane Evans officiating.
Because of the love and care given to James in his last days, memorial donations (in lieu of flowers) may be made to SECU Hospice House, 426 Hospital Rd. Smithfield, NC 27577.
