Janice Dean Newberry Hurt, age 80, died Wednesday evening in the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. She was born October 6, 1941 in Tarpon, VA to the late Robert Henry and Fronia Potter Newberry.
Janice worked as a Registered Nurse for 50+ years in the healthcare industry.
A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Selma Memorial Gardens with her son, the Rev. Jason Hurt officiating.
Surviving are her sons, Rev. Jason Hurt and Eric Hurt; daughter, Amy Deal; grandchildren, Ashley Fraley, Brandon Deal, Megan Hurt, Andrew Hurt, Jenna Hurt, Amelia Hurt and Gavin Hurt and one great granddaughter, Elizabeth Fraley.
