    Deceased Date: 12/12/2020

Janice Estelle Rogerson Barbee, 82, was called home to her Heavenly home on Saturday, December 12, 2020.

A service to celebrate Janice’s life will be held by the graveside at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 in the Kenly Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery. We respectfully remind those attending the service to practice social distancing guidelines.

Janice was born on December 24, 1937 to the late Samuel Andrew (Jeff) and Annie Estelle Crocker Rogerson. Janice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She always enjoyed spending time with family and working outside. Janice was a member of Mount Zion Free Will Baptist Church.

Janice is survived by her husband, Raymond Lee (Doug) Barbee, of 56 years. During her life, she enjoyed working side by side with Doug, whether it was farming the land, growing shrimp, or in construction. Janice would run errands to get parts or would do whatever was needed to make sure they kept working. If you ever met Janice you would never forget her. She never met a stranger and will be remembered by many as a one of a kind lady.

In addition to her husband Doug, she is survived by her daughter, Roxann Johnson and husband, James of Kenly; son, Johnny Ray Barbee and fiancée, Pam Lawhon of Goldsboro; sisters, Joyce Davis and Carolyn Scott and husband Wayne, all of Kenly. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Bert Johnson, Roger Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Jonathan Barbee, and Taylor Harper; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Janice always had a great love for her pets and she was currently enjoying the companionship of her K-9 friends, Lillie and Buddy.
