Jeffrey Gene Worrells, age 40, of Selma, passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2020. Born in Johnston County on September 26, 1979, he was the son of Kaye Smith Worrells of Selma and the late Donnie Gene Worrells. Jeff was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marvin R. and Mary Ruth Smith and his paternal grandparents, Roy Worrells, Zalene Worrells Thompson and Henry D. Thompson.
A private graveside service will be held on Saturday in Selma Memorial Gardens.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his brother, Joey Worrells and Tye of New Bern; niece Breanna Worrells of Clinton; special friend and caregiver Misty Renfrow; and many special aunts, uncles and cousins.
The public may come by Parrish Funeral Home on Friday between 8 am and 5 pm to pay their respects.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in remembrance of Jeff be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
