    Princeton – Jerry Douglas Holloman, age 70, passed away peacefully at his home on February 16, 2019. Born in Johnston County on April 1, 1948, he was the son of the late Leon and Ila Holloman. The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Monday, February 18, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with entombment to follow in Selma Memorial Gardens.

    Mr. Holloman is survived by his loving wife Sandy, of the home; sons, Chris Holloman and wife Lisa of Brogden, Matt Holloman and wife Kari of Pine Level, Josh Holloman and wife Stacy of Clayton; brother Randy Holloman and wife Donna; sisters, Brenda Capps and husband William, Donna Pittman and husband Danny, Debbie Holloman and Wanda “Tootsie” Holloman; grandchildren, Zachary, Makayla, Caden, Gage, Carter and Brooks Holloman, along with several nieces and nephews. Mr. Holloman was a Vietnam Veteran who was awarded a Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.

    He was a retired Lieutenant with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and enforced the law with the Pine Level and Four Oaks Police Departments, walking tall and mentoring a generation of law enforcement officers. He loved being at home and was a lifelong farmer on the family land. He was a member of the Pine Level Pentecostal Holiness Church, Pine Level Post of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Pine Level American Legion, a former member of the Fire Tax Board for Pine Level Fire Department and a former member of the Johnston County Veterans Services Advisory Board.
