Selma – Jerry Glenn Godwin, age 67, passed away at home on Thursday October 28, 2021. He was born on August 21, 1954; he is preceded in death by his parents, William Henry Godwin, II and Glennie Mitchell Godwin as well as two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Stewart Godwin of Selma; daughter, Shauna Rea Godwin of Clayton; son, Chadwick Scott Hicks of Cary; three grandchildren, Serenity Faith Beasley, Oliver Scott Hicks and Cora Sloane Hicks; several siblings, nieces and nephews.
Prior to retirement, Jerry was the previous owner and operator of Quality Grading Company of Clayton, NC. His career passion was in land development and heavy equipment. After retirement, Jerry enjoyed traveling with his family to different destinations, with his RV. Jerry had a great love for horses, fast cars and being on the water, all of his life.
The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home on Monday November 1, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A graveside service will follow the visitation on Monday in Selma Memorial Garden.
