Coats, NC: Mr. Jerry Ray Blake, age 71, of 92 Marlin Lane died Saturday at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Services will be held by the family at a later date.
Mr. Blake was born July 25, 1946, in Henderson, NC to the late Berlin and Christine Lassiter Blake. He was a mechanic on the assembly line at John Deere and served in the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam conflict.
Survivors are wife, Myrtle Jernigan Blake; sons & daughter-in-law, Sandy & Candy Blake of Lucama, Dean Blake of Ohio, and Johnny Blake of Smithfield; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; and stepsister, Montez Thompson of Henderson.
