Jesse Ray Johnson from Wilson’s Mills residing in Newport, NC passed away Wednesday January 24, 2018. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday January 27, 2018 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with interment to follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
Jesse was an extremely loving husband and father and is survived by his wife of 56 years; Marie “Molly” Johnson, sons; Bobby Johnson and wife Debra, Jesse Johnson, Jr. and wife Dawn, a daughter; Carol Johnson Buffaloe, grandchildren; Tiffany House, Brooke Johnson, Meghan Johnson, Casey Lane, Heather Lee, Jesse “Jay” Johnson, III, Dakota Johnson and 6 great grandchildren.
Jesse proudly and honorably served his country for more than 20 years in the US Army to include tours in Vietnam and Korea. God, country and family were word he lived by.
