SMITHFIELD, N.C. – Jesse Thomas “Tommy” Nichols, 65, passed away Monday, December 30, 2019 at UNC Johnston Healthcare in Smithfield.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Kenly Funeral Service with Rev. David Kriger officiating. Burial will follow in the Kenly Cemetery.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
Tommy was born in Newport News, Virginia to the late Jesse Carl Nichols and Geraldine Sullivan Nichols.
Tommy attended High School at Smithfield High School in Smithfield, Virginia, later attending Saint Andrew’s College in Laurinburg.
Tommy is survived by his brother, Jeffery Nichols and wife, Susan of Southport, NC; sister, Deborah Nichols Floody of Morganton, NC; step-brother, Danny Nichols of Kenly, NC; step-mother, Melva Nichols of Kenly, NC; nieces, Jessica Nichols, Deborah Nichole Floody; and a host of special aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the love and care shown to Tommy by the doctors, nurses, and staff of Smithfield Manor, of which Tommy was a resident since 1981. May God bless each of you, always.
