Jimmie Melvin Wheeler, 72, of Smithfield passed away at the SECU Hospice House on Friday, April 27, 2018. He was born January 29, 1946 in Pender County to the late James Franklin and Dorothy Carlene Godwin Wheeler. He is also preceded in death by a grandson, Roman Turner.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Wednesday at Clayton Church of God of Prophecy. A private burial will be held at a later date at Watha United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Cheri Dianne Manning Wheeler of Smithfield; sons, Jimmie Melvin Wheeler, Jr. of Burgaw, James Joel Wheeler of Seven Springs, Jason William Wheeler of Princeton; daughters, Amanda Muzio and husband, Daniel of Burgaw, Lisa Marie Walker and husband, David of Princeton; brother, Billy Wheeler and wife, Genny of Wallace; sisters, Carolyn English of Nine Miles, and Linda McCumber and husband, James of Rosewood; grandchildren, Isaac Turner, Jax Muzio, James Wheeler Jr., Raymond Wheeler, Bridgette Walker, Emily Walker, Hannah Walker, Savannah Creech, Emma Wheeler, and Marley Wheeler, and 5 great grandchildren.
