Clayton – Joann Warren Medlin, age 75, died Friday, April 7, 2017 afternoon in Springbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born August 9, 1941 in Johnston County to the late John Dewey and Pearl lee Warren, she was the widow of retired Johnston County Sheriff’s Deputy Ronald Clarence Medlin, who died March 23, 2013. She was a retired personnel manager with K-Mart and later worked with Walmart. Joann was a member of the Faith Community Church in Clayton for more than 20 years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with her pastor, Rev. David Sutphin officiating. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park.
Surviving are her sons, Ronald Craig Medlin of Micro and David Neil Medlin and wife Doris of Clayton; daughters, Lori Medlin Moore and husband Marty of Clayton and Cheryl Lynne Medlin of Smithfield; sister, Jean W. Hawley and husband Ron of Raleigh; five grandchildren, Chad Moore, Ashley Moore Scott, Tonya Medlin, Tiffany Medlin and David Douglas and eight great grandchildren, Nathan McKeel, Lane Wise, Tamia Hobbs, Brandon Mace, Brooklyn Medlin, Brelynn Medlin, Kyliah Douglas, and Bralynn Medlin.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
