Joel Clarence “JC” Matthews, 72, son of the late Lemon Worth and Estelle Lyles Matthews passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.
He is survived by his wife, Linda A. Matthews; son, Jerry Matthews and his wife Sherri of Four Oaks; daughter, Sherri Y. Matthews of Jacksonville, FL; step son, Chad Creech and his wife Karen of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Cale Matthews, Samantha Matthews and Michael Locke; one step grandson, Max Barber. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Joel C. Matthews, Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11:00am in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service from 10 until 11am.
