Smithfield – John Michael Walls Jr., age 64 passed away Sunday March 14, 2021 at his home in Brogden. He was born in Bluefield, WV on September 6, 1956 to Laura Moore Putze.
A funeral service will be conducted at Fellowship Baptist Church in Clayton on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 7 PM. The family will receive visitors at Fellowship Baptist Church from 6 PM to 7 PM on Thursday. A family graveside service will take place Friday March 19, 2021 in Sunset Memorial Park.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Walls is survived by wife of 43 years, Wanda Walls; sons, Seth Walls and wife Kendra of Kenly, Benjamin Walls and wife Kristi of Milton, FL, John M. Walls III and wife Kristie of Benson; brothers, Joseph Walls of Concord, Drew Walls of Asheville, Frank Johnson of Virginia; sisters, Linda Aguillard of Louisiana, Dee Dee Tate of Concord; grandchildren, Taylor Marino and husband Jesse, Alex Walls, Caleb Walls, Mackenzie Walls, Savanna Walls, Kenley Walls, Ella Walls, Ryan Walls; great grandchildren, Avery and Jesse Marino.
Mr. Walls was the pastor at Freedom Baptist Church for 29 years and also worked in nursing for over 30 years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Freedom Baptist Church 268 B Brogden School Rd Smithfield, NC 27577.
