Benson, NC: Mr. John Orbie Collins, age 80, of Pope Street, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Benson. Graveside Services will be 2:00PM, Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson. Pastor Eddie White will officiate.
Mr. Collins was born July 31, 1940 in Harnett County to the late John David and Mae Arnold Collins. He was preceded in death by sister, Susie C. Brown; brothers, Bill Collins, Leon Collins, Ralph Collins. Mr. Collins started his funeral service career with Overby Funeral Home in Raleigh for 16 years and then retired from Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, Coats, and Four Oaks, as a funeral director and embalmer serving families for over 52 years.
Surviving include his sons, Timothy Ray Collins and wife, Mary of Benson, Chris David Collins and wife, Shelley of Wake Forest, Brian Orbie Collins of Benson; grandchildren, Chad Collins, David Hunter Collins, Tabitha Brooke Collins, Krista Collins Fowler and husband, Austin, John Kyle Collins; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Collins will be available for you to view and sign the register book from 12:00PM-5:00PM Friday, December 18, 2020 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC. The family will not be present during this time.
In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Masks are required for all services.
