Benson, NC: Mr. John Ross Hood, age 48, of NC Hwy 50 South died Thursday at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Funeral Service will be 11:00AM Saturday at Benson Baptist Church. Officiating will be Revs. Paul Burgess and Bill West. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.
Mr. Hood was born March 18, 1969 in Johnston County to Lois Barefoot Hood of Benson and the late Robin Whitley Hood. He was a General Manager for Thermo King Sales and Service. Mr. Hood was also a member of Benson Baptist Church, Benson Masonic Relief Lodge #431 and the Dunn Shrine Club.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include children, John Tyler Hood and Corey Robert Hood both of Dunn; sister and brother-in-law, René and Brian Honeycutt of Benson; brother and sister-in-law, Robin Whitley Hood, II and Wendy of Carolina Beach; children’s mother, Sheri Lynn Hood of Dunn; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of René and Brian Honeycutt, 500 E. Main Street, Benson, NC 27504.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Benson Masonic Relief Lodge #431, 315 S. Lee Street, Benson, NC 27504 or to the Dunn Shrine Club, 211 N. Clinton Ave, Dunn, NC 28334.
