Raleigh, NC: Mr. John William “J.W.” McLamb, Jr., age 79, of 5521 Penny Road died Wednesday at Brookdale Assisted Living in Cary. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. Officiating will be Dr. Larry Withrow. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, NC.
Mr. McLamb was born on December 08, 1937 in Johnston County to the late John William, Sr. and Ruby Young McLamb. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Lee McLamb. Mr. McLamb was a retired mailroom supervisor at North Carolina Department of Corrections.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, John Thomas and Sherri McLamb of Raleigh; sister and brother-in law, Savon and Glenn Barefoot of Garner; brother and sister-in-law, Purvis D. and Norma McLamb of Raleigh; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Sandra Porter of Raleigh.
The family will receive friends 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM Saturday prior to the service.
