Selma – William Harold “Bill” Jones, age 80, died Thursday, May 3, 2018 in SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born October 14, 1937 in Johnston County he was a son of the late Clarence Franklin and Bessie Belle Carter Jones. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Jones, Lindsay Jones, and Robert Jones; and sisters, Ruby Ann Gainer, Jessie Ruth Pomerantz, and Lois Whited. Bill was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church in Selma.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Anderson officiating.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Martin Jones; sons, William Harold “Billy” Jones, Jr. and wife Tina of Harkers Island and Barry Franklin Jones and wife Lisa of Youngsville; daughter, Tracy Jones Vannurden of Clayton; brother, Clarence Franklin “C.F.” Jones, Jr. and wife Doris of Selma; sister, Louis Hilda; and grandchildren, Summer Jones, Chelsea Vannurden, Christopher Vannurden, Jason Jones, and Scott Jones.
