Willow Spring, NC: Mr. Joseph Wade Buffkin, age 81, of Two Claude Road died Thursday, November 19, 2020 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Graveside Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Willow Spring. Officiating will be Revs. Lester Bledsoe and Mark White.
Mr. Buffkin was born November 24, 1938 in Harnett County to the late William Troy and Alda Green Buffkin. He was preceded in death by brother, Charles Buffkin and infant brother. Mr. Buffkin retired from Sears as a refrigeration technician and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was a US Marine veteran. Mr. Buffkin enjoyed watching and feeding the birds. He enjoyed working in the yard and gardening.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth Ann King Buffkin; children, Tony Buffkin and wife, Ginger of Clayton, Danny Buffkin and wife, Denise of Willow Spring; granddaughter, Katie Doyle and husband, Sean of Greenville, SC.
Mr. Buffkin will be available for viewing, and you may sign the register book on Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 1:00PM-5:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. The family will not be present during this time. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service on Monday.
In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering.
