Selma – Rebecca Joyce Byrd Delahooke, age 87, died Sunday, November 24, 2019 in Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh. Born July 27, 1932 in Clinton, NC she was the daughter of the late Howard Moseley and Essie Vivian Pender Byrd. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Roy Eugene Brown and Edward Warren Delahooke; and brother, Howard Carson Byrd. Joyce was a member of Light of Christ Outreach Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2019 in chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Bruton officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Surviving are her sons, Martin E. Brown of Lewisville and Neal Brown and wife Brenda of Selma; daughters, Lou Ann Norris and husband Freddie of Benson and Rebekah Jo Brown of Selma; stepchildren, George Delahooke and Ted Delahooke; sister-in-law, Grace Byrd; twelve grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
