Benson, NC: Mrs. Joyce Dee Byrd, age 66 of 180 Godwin Rd died Thursday at her residence. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM Sunday at Johnson Memorial PFWB Church, Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Chris Searles and R. B. Parrish. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn.
Mrs. Byrd was born on December 28, 1950 in Vermont to Evelyn Giumond Slingerland of Benson and the late Eugene Slingerland. She was a homemaker and a member of Johnson Memorial Church.
Surviving in addition to her mother is husband of 31 years, Ray Byrd of Benson; sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas “T.K.” Travis and wife, Michelle of Washington, NC, Tyler Travis of Washington, NC; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Travis, Samantha Travis, Sophie Travis, Jeannah Travis; sisters, Louise Jeffo of Rutland, Vermont, Lorraine Guzwiller of Rutland, Vermont, Linda Geer of Benson, JoAnne Fruauff of Alva, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
