Kathryn Ellen Sodomka Lanier, age 61, of Smithfield, passed away at Wake Medical Center on February 16, 2017. Born in Kenosha County, Wisconsin on February 24, 1955, she was the daughter of the late John and Marelyn Strand Sodomka. Kathryn was the former office manager for Whitley Homes in Smithfield.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 20, at 6:00 pm in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Surviving are her son, Matthew Lanier of Smithfield; her daughter, Maren Draper and husband Kevin of Selma; and her grandchildren, James Price and Tatum Lanier.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Johnston County Animal Shelter Adoption Center; make checks to Friends of Johnston County and mail to 15 Shelter Way, Smithfield, NC 27577.
