KATIE JO AYCOCK, 82, a lovely and very kind lady, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, North Carolina. Born in Johnston County on June 16, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Claude Edward and Iola Gordon Aycock.
She grew up on the family farm, attended Micro High School and was a member of the Class of 1956. She attended East Carolina College and Atlantic Christian College where she earned a BS Degree in Elementary Education and graduated in the Class of 1960. Miss Aycock was a retired teacher from Johnston County schools where she taught at Meadow, Micro Elementary and North Johnston Middle School for 31 years. She spent many years of her life caring for her family.
Miss Aycock is survived by her brother Edward Gordon Aycock of Micro.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 14 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens.
