Mr. Slocum was born on June 5, 1942 in New York to the late Lloyd and Glenda Rose Slocum. He was a US Navy Veteran and retired from Koike-Aroson as a general salesman.
Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Karen L. Slocum; children, Laura Kosmerl and husband, Carl of New York; Steve Slocum and wife, Deirdra of Utah, Eric Slocum and wife, Katherine of New York, Jeff Slocum and wife, Michelle of New York, James Robert Ezzell, III of Smithfield, Billie Jo Pitcher and husband, Clayton of Four Oaks, Joel Gearhart of Pennsylvania; fifteen grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Slocum and wife, Cathy of New York; sister, Jeane Hawkins and husband, Don of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
