Smithfield – Larry Lee Housden, age 73, passed away Sunday June 27, 2021 at his home. He was born in Washington DC on April 9, 1948 to the late Roy Frederick and Ruby Proctor Housden. He is survived by wife of 51 years Wanda Balach Housden; son, Roy Housden of Smithfield; daughter, Belinda White of Four Oaks; brother, James Housden of Norfolk, VA; grandchildren, Levi White, Ashlynn Housden, Tyler White, Alyssa Housden. Mr. Housden was an MSG E8 retired US Army combat medic. He was also a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Vietnam Veterans of America, VFW, the American Leigon, National Fraternal Order of Police, Forty and Eight Veterans Organization, life time member of the National Eagle Scout Association; Mr. Housden retired from the Norfolk’s Sheriff’s Office after many years of service.
