Benson, NC: Mrs. Laura Joan Sutton McLamb, age 61, of 1093 Byrdtown Road, died Saturday, September 15, 2018 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. Funeral Service will be 3:00PM Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Providence Presbyterian Church in Angier, NC. Officiating will be Revs. Jim Davis, Clyde Wiley and eulogy given by Mrs. Kay Dry. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. McLamb was born November 30, 1956 in Pender County to Matthew Gerald and Ellen Peckham Seagle Sutton of Garner. She was a registered nurse with 24 years service at UNC Johnston Health Hospital in Smithfield, NC before retiring. Mrs. McLamb was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church where she served in many capacities.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, include husband of 36 years, Beck McLamb; daughters and son-in-law, Stephanie and Francis Whitley and Amanda McLamb and fiancé, Adam Weaver all of Benson; granddaughter, Audrey Grace Whitley; sister, Marie Lang of Charlotte; brothers, James Sutton of Durham and Alan Sutton of Ocracoke; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM – 8:00PM, Wednesday, September 19, 2018 and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Providence Presbyterian Church, Building Fund, 14644 NC 210 Hwy, Angier, NC 27501.
