Laura Lee Pittman, 92, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side Sunday, January 6, 2019. She was born in Princeton, NC to the late Malton and Iola Baker. She and her husband owned Pittman’s Jewelers for 66 years. Laura Lee was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, Clayton.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Elton Pittman. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Pleasant (Andy) of Clayton; daughter Beverly Goodwin (Robert) of Fuquay-Varina; grandchildren Paige Whitaker (Blake), Kyle Pleasant (Christina), Reid Goodwin (Melissa), Brooke Summers (Nicholas), five great grandchildren, Luke and Quinn Whitaker, Brooklyn and Ethan Pleasant and Hattie Goodwin. She is also survived by her sisters Marie Bunn and Pauline Eason, a brother Glenn Baker (Paulette) and a brother in law Norwood Potter as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Edna Earl Alcock and Jean Potter.
Services will be held 11:00 Wednesday at First Baptist Church Clayton with entombment following at Pinecrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
