Clayton – Leslie Ralph Howell, age 78, died Monday, August 27, 2018 in WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh. Born April 24, 1940 in Johnston County he was a son of the late Ralph Lawson and Jessy Mae Alford Howell. Leslie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a high school science and journalism (yearbook) teacher, pubic speaker and salesman and hobby photographer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Smithfield with Bishop Grachan officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Saturday just prior to the service.
Surviving are his wife, Jennifer Peterson Howell of the home; sons, Ralph Howell and wife Libby and Waylon Howell; daughters, Beth Howell, Leslie St. Louis and husband Tom, Jessica Dover and husband John, Tori Tigges and husband Alex, and Erin Howell; brother, Jack Howell and wife Suzanne; two granddaughters and one grandson.
