Sue Jones Byrd, age 75, died Tuesday evening, February 19, 2019 in SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born November 2, 1943 in Portsmouth, VA she was a daughter of the late Alton and Cleo Johnson Jones. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patsy Pollard. Linda was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church in Smithfield.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 in Pisgah Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Beasley officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
Surviving are her husband, Douglas Byrd; son, Lee Byrd and wife Lynn of Clayton; daughter, Jo Ann Norris and husband Donald of Smithfield; brother, Joe Jones and wife Virginia of Clayton; grandchildren, Donnie Norris, Hunter Byrd, Kaylee Byrd, and Ally Byrd; and feline companion, Boo.
