Linwood Wayne Brown, age 72, of Selma passed away at his home on April 28 following a period of declining health. Born in Johnston County on June 19, 1944, he was the son of Person and Carrie Pilkington Brown. Wayne worked for Coca-Cola for 15 years and later worked at the Fieldcrest Store for 15 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with burial following in the Price Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1 to 2 pm, just prior to the service.
Surviving are his wife, Roberta Hollomon Brown; son Derek Brown and wife Tracy of Princeton; brother Jim Brown of Antioch, TN; sisters Faydine Wall of Benson and Lena Cooke of Smithfield, VA; and a step-granddaughter, Traclyn Clark.
