Lois Anderson Daughtry, age 83, died Saturday morning at her home in Four Oaks, surrounded by her family. Born October 28, 1938 in Pitt County, she was a daughter of the late, Dennis and Sally Tugwell Anderson and was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Anderson; sister, Sally Tripp; half-brothers, Bobby Anderson, Billy Anderson and J.B. Anderson; Step-mother, Lessie Anderson.
She attended the Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Four Oaks. She began her baking career with the Williams Bakery in Smithfield and retired from the kitchen at Johnston Memorial Hospital, which she then worked at Millie’s Hot Dogs for several years. Throughout her life, she baked cakes for family and friends, even baking both daughter’s wedding cakes.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with a service at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. The Rev. Tom Wagner of Central Baptist Church in Dunn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens.
Surviving are her husband of almost 67 years, Rev. Wade N. Daughtry; daughters, Ann Daughtry Parker and her husband Alan of Four Oaks and Julie Renee Daughtry Goodding of Latta, SC; sister, Linda Pittman of Wilson; half-sisters, Helen Ann Butts and Bobbie Jean Letchworth of Tarboro. Grandchildren, Matthew Parker and wife Summer, Stephen Parker and wife Jessica, Jonathan Goodding and wife Erica and Brendon Goodding. Great grandchildren, Brayden Parker, Beckett Parker, Lyla Goodding and Lydia Parker.
