Louise Martin Thorpe, 79, departed this life on Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Laurels of Forest Glen where she had lived for almost three years. She was born on April 18, 1940 and was the second daughter, to the late Thurman George Martin and Mildred Capps Martin Benson in Johnston County, NC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11:00 am in Princeton United Methodist Church with the Reverend Neal Brantley officiating. The family will received friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Princeton United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 6, 2019. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. The Graveside Service will be private.
Mrs. Thorpe graduated from Princeton High School, class of 1958. After graduation, she moved to Washington, DC to work with the Federal Government. She moved back to NC in 1976 and was employed by US Foods in Zebulon , NC where she retired in February 2002.
She is survived by sisters, Janice Turner of Raleigh, Sherill Rosiek of Smyrna, GA, Carol (Fulton) Holloman and Marilyn Jones of Selma; one brother, Elton (Polly) Martin of Kenly; nieces, Shelly Oakley of Raleigh, Tina Link of Canton, GA, Robin Cross of Willow Springs, Kelli Brewer of Clayton and Tracy J. Vannurden of Clayton; nephews, Randy Turner of Garner, Billy Jones of Harker’s Island, Mark Rosiek of Canton, GA, Robert Holloman of Clayton and Barry Jones of Wake Forest.
