Smithfield – Luther Judd Morris, age 90, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in Smithfield Manor. Born June 30, 1928 in Wake County he was a son of the late Thomas and Bessie Taylor Morris. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Juanita Morris; brothers, Ted Morris and Doug Morris; and sisters, Teresa Sherer and Joyce Thorne. Luther, a proud World War II veteran, retired as a Weave Room Supervisor from Erwin Mills. He was known for his green thumb when it came to gardening. Especially with tomatoes, and he loved sharing them with neighbors and friends.
A graveside will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019 in Harnett Devotional Gardens with Mr. Luby Tyner, Jr. officiating.
Surviving are his sons, Howard L. Morris and wife Anita of Selma, and Clifford E. Morris of Erwin; sister, Faye Kenner and husband Roger of Asheboro; and granddaughter, Olivia Morris.
