    Selma – Malcolm “J.R.” Wehner, the man who lived to put “a smile on your face and a song in your heart,” was called home to the Lord on December 9, 2017 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC. J.R. was born in Lancaster, PA in 1954. He possessed a strong love for the south and relocated to Selma, NC in 2015. He continued to pursue his life’s dream which was to entertain the public with his talent playing and singing Country Bluegrass Music. IN 2016 J.R. became a member of the Centennial committee in Selma.
    He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathy; his daughters, Beth wife of Eddie Cintron of Ephrata, PA and Barbara wife of Andrew Levengood of Clayton, NC; son, Bobby Wehner of Mount Joy, PA; four grandchildren, Britney and Jamie Bolton, Danielle and Victoria Cintron; great grandson, Brett “Buck” Owen Simmons; and his loving dog, Lucy. He was preceded in death and has his grandson, Daniel waiting for him in Heaven.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Wednesday just prior to the service.
