Benson, NC: Ms. Margaret Vaughan Barbour, age 87, of W. Church St. died Monday at Oak Hill Assisted Living Center in Angier, NC. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Benson Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Burgess. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh, NC.
Ms. Barbour was born April 3, 1929 in Granville County to the late A.D. and Eva Williamson Vaughan. Ms. Barbour was a retired State Prison Matron and member of St. Mary’s Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church of Benson.
Surviving are children and spouses, Gloria and Dennis Johnson of Benson, Ashley Barbour of Tampa, FL, Rodney and Jackie Barbour of Benson and Mark and Linda Barbour of Peachtree City, GA; brother, Taylor Vaughan of Granville County; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a reception and visitation immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
The family would like to thank Oak Hill Assisted Living, Neta Womble, Rev. David Langley and so many more for the loving care provided to our mother.
