Newton Grove, NC: Mrs. Margaret Lee Jones, age 89, died Monday, January 7, 2019 at Liberty Commons Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Benson. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will Revs. Teddy Raynor and G.W. West, Jr. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Benson.
Mrs. Jones was born April 18, 1929 in Johnston County to the late David John and Marina Tart Lee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest O. Jones, Sr. Mrs. Jones retired from Sampson Regional Hospital in Clinton as a dietary supervisor with more than 25 years of service and was a member of Hood’s Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Sandra J. Lee and husband, Don of Meadow, Margaret J. Grice of Four Oaks, Ernest O. “Ernie” Jones, II and wife, Charlette of Dunn, David Wayne Jones and wife, Kathy, LaChelle Raynor and husband, Teddy, Danny Lee Jones and Carrie Lou Jones all of Newton Grove; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
