Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Margaret Morgan Lee, age 90, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, July 20, 2020 at the Allen Family Cemetery near Allen’s Crossroads on Juniper Church Road, Four Oaks, NC. Revs. Scott Johnson and Michael Whitley will officiate.
Mrs. Lee was born on January 3, 1930 in Johnston County to the late Carson and Ida Frances Lee Morgan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Telpher M. Lee; brothers, James Arvis “Jim” Morgan and Jesse Curtis Morgan. She was a 1948 graduate of Meadow High School. Mrs. Lee worked as a telephone operator, in textiles and floral design. After retirement she continued to work part-time as a home healthcare provider until the age of 87 . Mrs. Lee was a member of Stone’s Creek Advent Christian Church and loved spending time at Carolina Beach. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens, spending time with her pets and watching her hummingbirds. Granny Lee had a special place in her heart for her granddaughter, Peyton.
Surviving include her children, Don Morgan Lee of Wilmington, Richard Allen Lee and wife, Lisa of Clayton; granddaughter, Peyton Lee; sister, Marlene Creech of Raleigh; companion for over 50 years, Hubert Owen McLamb of Benson; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lee will lie in state from 12:00 Noon to 5:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson on Sunday, July 19, 2020. The family will not be present during this time.
In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering.
