Pine Level – Marie Creech, age 85, passed away Monday June 15, 2020 at her home. She was born in Johnston County October 1, 1934 to the late Henry and Hester Thompson Creech. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her brothers, William (Bill) Creech, James Creech, and William Creech; Sisters, Esther Peedin and Frances Thompson; A grave side service will take place Thursday June, 18 2020 1 PM in Sunset Memorial Park in Smithfield, with Rev. Howard Scott and Rev. Gary Bailey officiating. Mrs. Creech is survived by husband of 68 years, Donald Wilton Creech of Pine Level; A host of nieces; Two sister in laws, Janie Creech of Charlotte, and Shelba Keene of Four Oaks; Her wonderful church family; A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Christian Life Center at Pine Level Original Free Will Baptist Church; Mrs. Creech retired after 26 years in the Veterans Office at Smithfield. She was a long time Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs officer at Johnston Community College, retiring on January 1, 1992. Serving in sales and design for Pine Level Furniture, she retired after over 20 years at the age of 80. Mrs. Creech was a member of Pine Level Original Free Will Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess, choir member, and charter member of the Bridge Builders Class. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her care givers and hospice and to care giver, Betty Overfield.
