MICRO – Mary Boykin Pay, age 67, died Saturday evening, February 24, 2018 in the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born March 5, 1950 in Marlboro County, SC to the late Ernest Leroy and Virginia Dale Cribb Boykin, she was preceded in death by two sons, Mannix Anthony Wayne Atkinson on May 23, 2011 and Maxcy Christopher Lee Atkinson on April 18, 2014. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dale Hubbard and Wendy Stanton and a brother, Aubrey Price. Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren, working in her yard and playing cards with her “cheating” friends, Glenda Mury and Linda Stephenson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2018 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dennis Joyner officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 just prior to the service.
Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Robert Lee “Bubba” Pay, Jr.; son Rodney Atkinson and wife Tonia of Autryville; daughters, Teresa “Lynn” Gastaw of Tatum, SC and Tonia Michelle Tew and husband Darryl of Laurinburg; brother, Robert lee Boykin of Kenly; sisters, Gloria Dean Mass and Patsy Boykin both of Bennettsville, SC and Faye Stubbs and Patricia Boykin both of McColl, SC; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and her special canine companion, Snickers.
