Melanie Rose Merritt Jones, 54, of Garner, passed away unexpectedly on June 29, 2019. Born in Wake County on February 25, 1965, she was the daughter of the late David Thomas and Rosalee Sanders Merritt. Melanie was the proud owner & operator of Jonesy’s Concessions and Catering in Garner.
The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma on Friday, July 5, from 1-2 PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Smithfield.
Surviving are her husband, Jim Barbee, Jr.; sister Michelle Logan and husband Reed; nieces and nephews Brandon and Taylor Grindstaff, Connor and Cayden Logan, Brinley Holland; her fur babies Megan Lee and Jeremy; sisters-in-law Jenny Pope and Tina Mills; brother-in-law Bill Barbee; and many loving friends.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to any local SPCA.
