KENLY – Melannie Taylor Gunter, age 53, died Friday, February 23, 2018 in WakeMed of Raleigh. She was born August 17, 1964 in Wake County to Lillian S. Taylor of Raleigh and the late Billy Jo Taylor. A volunteer with the Johnston County Guardian Ad Litem, she also attended the Kenly Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and enjoyed working with the community youth.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February, 27, 2018 in the Kenly Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Arant officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband, Doug Gunter; daughter, Danielle Nicole Gunter of Kenly; son, Taylor Douglas Gunter, who is currently serving in the US Army stationed at Fort Benning, GA; brother, Billy Taylor of Springfield, MO; and sisters, Betty Taylor of Naperville, IL, Kelly Graham of Kenly, Paula Story of Wendell and Amanda Taylor of Springfield, MO.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Youth Program at Kenly Missionary Baptist Church, P. O. Box 237, Kenly, NC 27542.
