    SELMA – Melba Dean House Wiggs, age 76, died Wednesday evening, December 11, 2019 at UNC Health in Clayton. Born August 14, 1943 in Johnston County to the late Vernon Jackson and Rebecca Ellen Mitchell House, she was the widow of William Douglas Wiggs, Sr. and was preceded in death by brothers, Rudolph, Eddie, J.R., Andrew, Bernice and Vernon “Tootle” House Jr. and sister, Lunervy Coggin. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Princeton and also attended Stevens Chapel Baptist Church where she was active in the Jolly Elders Senior group.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Stuart Coffman and the Rev. Marvin Ownley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

    Surviving are her sons, Douglas Wiggs, Jr. and wife Debbie of Garner and David Wiggs of Clayton; brother, Billy House of Selma and five grandchildren, Rebekah Wiggs, Hannah Wiggs, Lindsay Wiggs, Julia Wiggs and Alec Wiggs.

    The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
