Henderson, NC: Mrs. Melody Hughes Tart, age 52, of 809 Club Pond Road, formally of Benson died Friday, September 14, 2018 at Hock Family Pavilion Hospice in Durham. Graveside Services will be 3:00PM Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson. Officiating will be Pastor Eddie White.
Mrs. Tart was born January 15, 1966 in Franklin County to James Flemming and Sandra Decker Hughes of Henderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tony Tart. Mrs. Tart worked in the advertising department for the Dunn Daily Record years ago.
Mrs. Tart in addition to her parents is survived by sister, Melinda Clark and husband, Craig of Henderson; brother, James Robert Hughes and wife, Heather of Henderson; niece and nephew, Trenton Clark, Deanna Moore and husband, Max; special cousins, Cindy Hinton and Bonnie Kay Hudgins; mother-in-law, Betty Tart of Benson; brother-in-law, Tracy Tart of Benson; sisters-in-law, Denise T. Massengill and Tonya T. Ellis both of Benson.
The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38015.
