Monroe Reid Jones, age 68, of Tarboro, formerly of Smithfield, passed away on February 26, 2019. Born in Johnston County on November 11, 1950, he was the son of the late Joseph Medwyn and Marguerite Gaskin Jones.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9, at 11:00 AM in the First United Methodist Church in Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Surviving are his sister, Gale Trevathan and her husband Steve of Rocky Mount; and his nephew Jeremy Trevathan of Rocky Mount.
The family wishes to send a big Thank You to all of the caretakers at Edgecombe Health who have cared for Monroe since 1988.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children’s Program at First United Methodist Church, 100 S. Church St., Rocky Mount, NC 28704.
