Myde Elizabeth Eason

    Myde Elizabeth Eason was born December 17, 1919. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 28, 2017. Myde was a native of Johnston Co. and one of 7 farming country children born to the late Azil and Effie Siler Woodard of Princeton.
    Funeral services honoring Myde will be Wednesday, May 31 at 2:00 pm. Services will be conducted by Rev. Joe Hester, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Smithfield. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm – one hour prior to the Service. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Smithfield.
    Myde was a life long member of the First Presbyterian Church in Smithfield, where she held the title of the “oldest living member.” Myde was a deacon and active in all phases of church life as long as she was able.
    She was preceeded in death by her husband of 46 years Theodore R. Eason, and they had 2 children..Roger Eason of Dunn, and Susan Hill of Smithfield. Myde is survived by one brother George Woodard and his wife Libby of Rosewood. Myde had 4 grandchildren; Jeff Plowman, Beth Walker (Bryan), Rodney Eason (Shannon), and Clay Eason (Holly), and 6 great grandchildren: Garrison Walker, Olivia Walker, Amanda Johnson( Zack), Ashlynn Byerly (Ben), Audrey Eason , Isaac Eason, and one great-great granddaughter Mary Scott Johnson.
    Myde was a Godly woman and a wonderful role model to her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother , and friend. Forever in our hearts and never to be forgotten. She will always be remembered for her gift of hospitality and love of family. One always felt welcomed in her home, and If you could stay long enough, she would surely offer you a brownie!!
    She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, and helping others. Myde will especially be remembered for her “ never- ending journey” to know and serve God … by serving others.
