Smithfield – Myra Tyner Adams, age 74, passed away on November 25, 2018. Born July 24, 1944, Myra was a daughter to the late Thomas “Jack” and Josephine Tyner. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Katie Ethridge. She is survived by her husband of forty- four years Robert Adams of the home; Daughters, Jody Adams, Brandy Schroeder and husband Matthew of Kenly; Son, Robert Edward Adams and wife Charlotte of Wilmington; Brothers Eddie Tyner of VA, Tommy Tyner of Elm City; Sisters Jenny Mayo of Rocky Mount, Elaine Morris of Southport, and Sharon Talbott of Wilmington; Grandchildren Christopher Baker, Joshua and Sydney Schroeder, Joseph Baker, Tala and Taegan Thompson, Robert and Nikolai Adams. Services will be conducted Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, 8980 Old Beulah Rd, Kenly, NC at 11:00 am with Pastor Daniel Arrant officiating. The family will receive visitors after the service. Myra loved her grandchildren with all her heart and would often tell them “A bushel and a peck” while hugging them around the neck and also tell them that she “Loved them more than the universe, black hole, worm hole, and beyond to infinity”. Myra was a leader who would often lend her home to women who had been abused, or people who were just down on their luck, and never knew a stranger and treated every one as if they were family. She lived an adventurous life and urged others to live life to the fullest as well. Friends and family of Myra could often be heard using words like vivacious, joyful, protective, stubborn, and inspirational to describe her, as well as her infectious smile and laughter.
