Norman Arant, devoted husband and father of two children, passed away on Thursday, July 1, at the age of 79.
A lifelong resident of North Carolina, Norman made countless friends throughout the state in his work in telecommunications, which spanned the better part of five decades. A veteran, Norman served in the United States Army for six years, including a deployment to South Korea. He was also a skilled carpenter, and he built the house that his family still lives in to this day. Most importantly, Norman was a devout follower of the Lord, and he sought to treat every person with the love of Christ.
Norman leaves behind his wife, Rebecca, of 54 years, his children Sarah and Paul, and six grandchildren. Family visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, which is located at 8980 Old Beulah Rd. in Kenly. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. immediately following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to Samaritan’s Purse, one of Norman’s favorite charities.
